PIX: Inside the Bimal Roy exhibition in Mumbai

Showcasing memorabilia and rare pictures from the life and films of one of Indian cinema's finest legends.

Bimal Roy: Life and Times, an exhibition marking the legendary filmmaker's 105th birth anniversary (on July 12), is currently on at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya in Mumbai.

Cinephiles and fans dropped in to see rare photographs from his life and film sets, notes, the camera Roy used to shoot his films, among other memorable items.

Seen here, is a portrait of Bimal Roy.

Awards

Some of the many accolades Bimal Roy garnered in his lifetime -- a Karlovy Vary award, Filmfare award for Madhumati and BFJA award are seen here.

The late legend was one of the most felicitated Indian filmmakers of his time.

While his film Do Bigha Zameen won the Best Film and Best Director nods at the first ever Filmfare awards, it also picked up the Prize for Social Progress at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
