Priyanka Chopra, who recently launched her new single Exotic, has started working on her next film. The actress will essay the role of Olympic Bronze medalist boxer Mary Kom, and she visited Kom's hometown Imphal, Manipur, to know more about her.

‘Road tripppp! Interiors of Manipur r so full of character..with #MaryKom as my travel guide..anything is possible!’ tweeted with a picture of them together (above). 

She also met her family. ‘Too happy to be hosted by #MaryKom and her husband Onler in beautiful Manipur..checked out all her haunts!’ she added.

The film is being directed by Omung Kumar.

'Wish D-Day was a true story'

Stars, who watched Nikhil Advani’s latest film D-Day, turned to Twitter to praise it:

Tarun Mansukhani: ‘Watched D Day. Simply fantastic. @rampalarjun is brilliant. Watch out for him in the song alvida. Such an amazing performance. Irfan khan and Huma Qureshi are super as always. Don't know the name of the fourth guy.. but such a fine actor. Rishi Kapoor Sir. Another superlative performance. Also must mention another fantastic actor in the film. Shriswara. She plays irfans wife. And most of all. So so proud of and happy for @nickadvani. Brilliant film my friend. Just wish it was a true story. And @shrutihaasan is captivating on screen. Can't get over her voice on the track alvida either.  The fourth actor I spoke of is @aakashdahiya. Brilliant and fine actor. Hope to see lots more of him.’

As for Arjun, he will be promoting the film on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6. ‘Heading back to Mumbai, for Jhalak Show, rest of the team continues to promote #Dday in Delhi, excitement builds up as reactions from screenings come in,’ he wrote.

The film -- starring Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Huma Qureshi, Rishi Kapoor, Shruti Haasan -- releases on July 19.

Madhur Bhandarkar: Chandni Bar changed the filmmaker in me

As the Supreme Court removed the ban on dance bars, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who showcased the plight of bar girls in his National Award-winning film Chandni Bar, got nostalgic.

‘Dance bars to be reopened. Cannot help but go down memory lane when research for #Chandni Bar led me to visit some of these places... Saw the dark (read Real) side of human desires come to life. Was a stirring experience that changed the filmmaker in me, forever,’ the 46-year-old director tweeted.

Starring Tabu in the lead role, the film tells a story of a woman, who is forced to become a beer bar dancer.
