The 86th Academy awards are set to be held on March 3.

With the venerated awards around the corner and a glimpse of both Best Actor as well as the Best Actress nominees, we move on to the Best Picture category.

A category so important, it is the last one to be announced at all major award ceremonies.

While it's a coveted segment, this year's bunch has been particularly hailed as the finest in the recent years.

There's Steve McQueen's stark historical drama 12 Years A Slave, David O Russell's swashbuckling con film American Hustle, Alexander Payne's delightfully dark Nebraska and Martin Scorsese's decadent The Wolf of Wall Street, among others.

Before we get to know who the crowning glory is bestowed upon, take a look at some winning moments from each of these nine films.
