Katrina, Rani, Sridevi: Celebrating Yash Chopra, on the ramp

Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, who passed away shortly after his birthday last year, would have turned 81 on Friday, September 27.

The Chopra family, in a bid to make the late director's first birth anniversary a memorable occasion, is set to organise a fashion show on the special day. The ethnic outfits will be designed by Diwa'ni, a clothing line inspired by fashionable clothing worn by Yash Raj heroines over the years.

The runaway bride

Katrina Kaif, as the free spirited Dimple Dixit in the 2011 romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, flaunts her toned midriff in a white (a Yash Chopra staple), sequinned choli.

As the chirpy village belle in Dil Bole Hadippa, Rani Mukerji sizzles in a gold outfit in the title song, along with costar Shahid Kapoor.

Sridevi, who lit up the screen in her chiffon saris and colourful salwar kameezs in Yash Chopra's 1989 blockbuster Chandni.

The veteran actress will also sashay down the ramp in a Diva'ni outfit.

Madhuri Dixit floored her fans with her sparkly black and blue lehenga and dance moves in her comeback film Aaja Nachle in 2007.

Preity lent her innate charm and vivacity to Zaara, a Pakistani girl who falls in love with an Indian army officer (played by Shah Rukh Khan) in the veteran director's 2004 romance drama.

Shah Rukh Khan, who's worked in seven Yash Raj films, will be one the stars on the ramp.
