The fifth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati came to an end last night, with the promise that it would be back soon.

The season captured many smiles, many tears, many star-struck fans and many happy winners. And host Amitabh Bachchan sparkled through it all.

We look back at some of the show's great moments.

We start with contestant Yusuf Mallu, who is wheelchair-bound because of a spine injury. As he told his story on the hot seat, even he could not contain his tears. Since he is paralysed and has lost the use of his hands, Amitabh went up to him and wiped his tears.

Yusuf left the show with Rs 12.5 lakh.

Sushil Kumar wins Rs 5 crore

The happiest moment on the show was when Sushil Kumar from Bihar won the mega jackpot prize of Rs 5 crores.

A computer operator, Sushil's monthly income was Rs 6,000. With the big win, his life has now completely changed, and he has become a celebrity of sorts in his hometown.

Less than a week after Sushil Kumar won the Rs 5 crore jackpot, it was Anil Kumar Sinha's turn to win Rs 1 crore.

The 33-year-old bank manager from Bihar from Patna plans to construct a nursing home and trauma centre in his city with the prize money.

KBC 5 has seen many celebrities on its show but the most entertaining of them was undoubtedly Shah Rukh Khan.

SRK, who was on the show to promote Ra.One, left the audience in splits with his quick wit. He also apologised to Amitabh for hosting an earlier season, and played quizmaster for a question.

The show had some glamour as well, in the form of Vidya Balan.

Wearing a red hot sari, Vidya came on the show to promote her film The Dirty Picture.

Vidya, who had played Amitabh's mother in Paa earlier, made the actor dance to her tunes as well!
