Critically acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who made films like Dev D, Gulaal and Gangs of Wasseypur, turned 41 today. His filmi colleagues turned to Twitter to wish him:

Karan Johar: Happy birthday to my friend and Director @ankash1009....have the best year ever!!! Big huge hug!!!

Nikhil Advani: Happy birthday @ankash1009... Good times ahead... Cheers!!!

Hansal Mehta: Happy Birthday to @ankash1009 - the person I'm proud to say wrote my first film and produced my best film.

As for Kashyap, he was overwhelmed by the wishes and tweeted his thanks: ‘Baap re.. So many wishes.. I am awkward while taking birthday wishes.. So a collective thank you to all.’

Anurag is currently shooting in Sri Lanka for his next directorial venture Bombay Velvet, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

Akshay Kumar: Blessed to get so much love

Akshay Kumar, who celebrated his 46th birthday yesterday, turned to Twitter to thank his fans.

He tweeted: ‘Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Saying it as many times won't be enough. Blessed to get so much love...saw so many of u celebrating my birthday as if it was your own, cutting cakes, treating friends :) but what touched me most was how some of u celebrated my birthday at orphanages and even organised blood donation camps. Thank you for making #BossKaBirthday memorable. Love you all :)’

Kumar, who will be next seen in Boss, is busy shooting for Prabhudheva’s next film Action Jackson with Sonakshi Sinha and Yaami Gautam.

Dabangg turns 3!

Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg was released on this date, three years ago. 

Sonakshi Sinha, who made her acting debut with the film, got nostalgic. ‘3 years to Dabangg today and im starting work on my 11th film already.. How time flies!!! Thank YOU all for the steady support and love! I wouldn't be here without it,' she tweeted.

Bollywood stars welcome Ganpati at home

Bollywood stars welcomed Lord Ganesha to their homes, and celebrated the festival with much fanfare.

Prabhudheva shared a picture and tweeted: ‘Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all!!’

Shilpa Shetty also wished her fans. ‘Our Gannu Raja has come home Happy Ganesh Chaturti to all my tweetos:)’ she tweeted with a picture

Meanwhile, Salman’s sister Arpita Khan shared a picture of herself with sister Alvira from celebrations at their place.

Television actor Jay Bhanushali also tweeted a picture and wished: ‘Ganpati bappa moryaaa.'

First look: Imran, Kareena in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein

The first look of Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is out. 

Director Punit Malhotra shared the first look of the film and tweeted: ‘Thanks guys for all this love and for such a stupendous response.:)’

The rom-com tells a quirky love story of a South Indian boy -- played by Imran Khan -- who travels to a village to win back his ladylove Kareena Kapoor.

The film is scheduled to release on November 22.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is busy shooting for Farah Khan’s Happy New Year in Dubai, took some time to perform at a private wedding in London.

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who was also there at the event, shared a picture and tweeted: ‘My fan moment post the show in london with my favourite ever @iamsrk- jump jump, twirl twirl, sigh sigh.’ 

Meanwhile, Simi Garewal shared a picture of herself from Thailand and wrote: ‘At the Indian Ambassador to Thailand's dinner. Indian homes r always an oasis of hospitality. ..  Been in Thailand since 5 days. No news of India. So no idea of new scams, rapes, assaults, riots..what a relief!’
