Rahi (1952)
Adapted from Mulk Raj Anand's novel Two Leaves & A Bud, Dev starred as an oppressive tea plantation manager who sheds his sadistic side when he meets plantation worker Ganga (Nalini Jaywant).
The K A Abbas directed film also released in English and Russian.

Jaal (1952)
Guru Dutt's masterpiece of suspense and romance.
Dev was cast as the rakish and unscrupulous smuggler Tony who seduces the bewitching Maria (Geeta Bali).

Nau Do Gyarah (1957)
Dev's wife-to-be Kalpana Kartik plays an heiress who runs away from an arranged marriage and meets him on the way.

Bambai Ka Babu (1960)
In the Raj Khosla film co-starring Suchitra Sen, Dev plays a criminal who pretends to be the dead son of an heir-less family.

Playing soldiers, one presumed dead, the other has to take his place in his wife's life.

Guide (1965)
As the tourist guide Raju who brings home a client's unhappy wife (Waheeda Rehman), grooms her to stardom, falls in love with and then betrays her, Dev gave a boldly defiant performance which won a Filmfare award.

Jewel Thief (1967)
'Raat akeli hai bujh gaye diye,' Tanuja sings to seduce Dev, but which one?
