Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani seemed like a winner from the start, thanks to Deepika's fabulous chemistry with her former beau Ranbir Kapoor.
And even though Ranbir stole hearts with his Batameez Dil jig, Deepika made sure she stood out. The film missed the Rs 200 crore mark by a whisker.

Now this is what luck is all about.
Deepika stepped into the film, then walked out due to date issues, then walked right back when the makers insisted, and eventually managed to score her first Rs 100 crore success.
Race 2 may have been all about style and glamour but Deepika showed everyone that she had it all. Her bikini act in the film was an instant hit.

Om Shanti Om
Much before the films were being sold as 'Deepika-starrers', the young woman with stars in her eyes had a dream start with Shah Rukh Khan.
The superstar supported her, the director (Farah Khan) mentored her and soon, Deepika found herself in the middle of a double role no less.
Om Shanti Om, her calling card, went on to become her first hit.

Housefull came as a happy welcome for Deepika after a spate of flops at the box office.
The Akshay Kumar starrer may have boasted of six leads but as Saundarya Bhagayalaxmi Venkateshwari Basapa Rao a.k.a. Sandy -- Deepika's character -- was as endearing as ever. The film was a good success.

Essentially a 'boyz' show (the film revolved around its lead stars Akshay Kumar and John Abraham), Deepika made her presence felt in Desi Boyz, especially in the hits songs.
Though she may not be seen flaunting the film in her repertoire, considering it didn't demand histrionics from her, the fact remains that Desi Boyz made money.
Box Office Collections: Rs 48 crores

Bachna Ae Haseeno
In her first film with Ranbir Kapoor, Dips had to share the actor with two other women -- Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba.
Eventually, it was she who walked away with the man in the sunset.
A quintessential romcom entertainer, Bachna Ae Haseeno was neither too demanding on her as an actress nor did it promise audience a moon, and the film was a safe success at the box office.
