Box Office: Main Tera Hero opens well

Last week saw two movie releases, Main Tera Hero and Jal.

Main Tera Hero has been liked by critics and audiences alike, but it would have fared even better had it not been for the T20 World Cup finals that were telecast over the weekend. Jal, however, was a flop.

Trade analyst Vinod Mirani gives the box office verdict for the week.

Main Tera Hero

Cast: Varun Dhawan, Ileana D'Cruz, Nargis Fakhri.

Director: David Dhawan.

What works: A time-pass and paisa vasool film, with lots of romance and comedy.

What doesn't: Not for family audiences, too many subplots.

Number of weeks: New

BO verdict: Opens well.
