Some chap everyone ignored in college decides to slip into full-on stalking mode for the girl he crushed on.

That results in crazy pandemonium against gorgeous snow-clad backdrops in Yash Chopra’s violent love story, Darr.

Bottomline: We pick Shah Rukh Khan’s Pyaar Dosti Hai fundas over I love you K-k-k-k-iran.

For all of Dhanush’s heartfelt verve and tenacity, Raanjhanaa unfolds the events of a rather messy romantic.

There’s too much politics of the heart and mind and physical aggression to recommend it on a day that celebrates the rosy facets of life.

All through the course of this romantic drama, Kamal Haasan and Rati Agnihotri convey the inspiring commitment and restless angst of young lovers forced to stay apart by their incompatible parents.

And just when they are two steps away from their happily-ever-after, Ek Duuje Ke Liye turns so brutally sadistic, it will scar its viewer for life.

In this bristly retelling of Romeo and Juliet, children of enemy clans fall for each other.

Before unconvincingly turning new leaf, Arjun Kapoor’s deceitful Romeo pretends to be smitten by an unexpectedly gullible Parineeti Chopra followed by revenge sex, regressive compliance and, ultimately, a foolish urge to play gun-gun.

What a waste.

Another reworking of Shakespeare (in this case Othello) revolves around a couple intensely in love but ends on an ominous note.

Lack of trust can ruin a relationship is the moral here as Ajay Devgn allows a scorned Saif Ali Khan to poison his mind against his blameless sweetheart Kareena Kapoor resulting in immensely tragic finish.

For all three.

Don’t think anyone’s idea of a romantic date involves watching a film about how two self-seeking people wreck their peaceful marriage and family life to have an affair with an unlikable individual.

And if that’s not silly enough, Karan Johar tries to justify their actions by making them look so virtuous for not trying to get back together after a divorce until prompted by their exes.

Skip it, sister!

Dude, this is V-Day, not Bhai day.

Save this for after she dumps you.

First he uses her blind state to execute his covert operations.

Then he spends the night with her.

Then he dumps her by making her believe he’s dead.

Then he reappears from nowhere and makes a puppy face in front of her and their son.

Then he kills her father and is identified as a national threat, a terrorist.

Of course, she shoots him in the end.

Sure, Rajnigandha is a terrific film.

Unless the object of your affection is still making up his/her mind about you, know this.

In Rajnigandha, a Delhi girl who is engaged to a somewhat regular guy goes for a job interview to Mumbai where she meets ex-flame and she begins to secretly infatuate about him all over again.

Luckily, nothing happens.

But, hey, it might just give him/her ideas.

You know how this ends, right?

Sadma is a beautifully crafted tragedy about a sympathetic young man and his single-minded devotion to nurture a girl who’s lost her memory and mind. But that’s what it is, a tragedy.
