James Wan's The Conjuring, currently scaring the daylights out of audiences in Indian theatres, has clocked in the biggest opening for a R-rated original horror film in North America.
One of the many positive reviews that the film has received so far, a Variety piece calls the film 'a sensationally entertaining old-school freakout and one of the smartest, most viscerally effective thrillers in recent memory."
Many also believe that it's the scariest film you'll ever see.
Based on the real life story of Carolyn and Roger Perron who experience paranormal activities in their dilapidated farmhouse and seek help from renowned investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren for help, the film stars Oscar-nominated actress Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor in lead roles.
Close on heels of some great spook-fests like the Paranormal Activity series, Insidious (also by James Wan) and The Cabin In The Woods, The Conjuring may give some real chills but could it be THE greatest horror film of Hollywood of all time?
