Sanjeevni actor Sanjit Bedi no more

TV actor Sanjit Bedi, who rose to fame as Dr Omi on Star Plus' medical drama Sanjeevni, passed away on June 23 in a Mumbai hospital.

He had been suffering from a brain ailment following which he had slipped into a coma.

He is survived by his wife.

The actor's last rites was reportedly held at the Chandanwadi crematorium in Marine Lines, South Mumbai, this morning.

The actor also starred in other popular television shows like Jaane Kya Baat Huyi, Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman, Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, among others.

Several TV actors took to Twitter to express grief over Bedi's demise:

Karanvir Bohra: ‘#SanjitBedi you were one of the one of the most optimistic, positive, selfless, awesomely energetic pure soul I've met in my life.

‘Never thought I'd see you silent like this. They say you don't know what you have till it's gone, but the truth is we knew what we had, we just never thought that we could lose it. #Bedi RIP my friend.i love you....you will be missed dearly.’
