Veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey passes away

One of India's finest actors Saeed Jaffrey passed away into the ages on November 15. He was 86.

His niece Shaheen Aggarwal posted the tragic news on her Facebook page: 'Today, a generation of Jaffreys has passed away. Saeed Jaffrey has joined his brothers and sister and is rejoicing in the lap of his Heavenly Father, eternally. The entire Jaffrey Family bids you, "adieu", you beautiful, beautiful man See you in heaven!' 

The Indian-born British actor is best known for films like Ram Lakhan, Hero Hiralal, Chashme Buddoor, Gandhi, Shatranj Ke Khiladi and the television series, Tamas.

Bollywood tweeted their condolences:

Shekhar Kapur, who had directed him in Masoom, tweeted: 'Goodbye dear Sayeed. Started my career with u in Masoom. Cant forget ur kindness n enthusiasm for your art n others.'

Alok Nath 
wrote: 'Rest in eternal peace Jaffery Sahib...i will always cherish the pleasurable times we spent shooting together.'

Rishi Kapoor: 'R I P. My friend,my colleague of several films-Syd Jeffries alias Sayeed Jaffri to the world, leaves us. Cheers to you!'
