Saptamasree Taskaraha is an enjoyable comic thriller, says Paresh C Palicha.
Anil Radhakrishnan Menon's comedy film Saptamasree Taskaraha starts off with thieves digging a tunnel and reaching the toilet of a home.
The actual story starts with a confession in a church, setting the stage for a funny flashback. Marty (Chemban Vinod), who has not made a confession for many years, confesses before a priest played by director Lijo Jose Pellissery.
We get some information about the six others who were his partners in crime. Nobilettan (Nedumudi Venu) used to run a chit fund and ended up in jail after his in-laws cheated him in the business and his only son committed suicide.
The rest of the stories follow in humourous vein till we reach the more serious story of Krishnanunni (Prithviraj).
In between we have Narayanankutty (Neeraj Madhav), who has expertise in fixing hidden cameras, and Shahab (Asif Ali), who spent time in a jail in a Gulf country because his agent sent him on a fake visa. On his return he took a violent revenge.
Then there is Leaf Vasu (Sudheer Karamana), a typical thug who lost his mind after an injury.
Nobiletten and Krishnanunni are victims of Pious (Joy Mathew). So, they decide to loot his locker filled with black money, which is kept on the top floor of a dilapidated hospital run by his family.
They draw up a plan and carry out the theft. They do so light-heartedly with many comic scenes.
Chemban Vinod and Neeraj Madhav power this comic locomotive. Asif Ali is the typical angry young man with an itch for action and violence.
Prithviraj, who begins as a brooding loner turns into a very vocal team leader who can ideate and get things done.
Nedumudi Venu is aptly cast.
Saptamasree Taskaraha is an enjoyable comic thriller.
