September 13, 2013 14:52 IST

Ram Charan TejaTelugu superstar Ram Charan, whose recently made his Bollywood debut with the flop Zanjeer, has undergone a sinus surgery in Mumbai. He is now recovering well at a specially sterilised room at the posh Taj Lands End hotel in Mumbai.

Curiously, Ram’s surgery did not take place at the well-reputed Apollo hospital in Hyderabad. Instead, it took place at the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai.

For those who don't know, Ram Charan's wife Upasana Kamineni is the granddaughter of Dr Prathap C Reddy, founder-chairman of Apollo Hospitals.

Before the surgery, Ram has stated that he was in Mumbai to get a second

opinion.

"I am in Mumbai to get a second opinion from one of the best specialist doctors for my ailment, who happens to be attached to the Hinduja hospital. But the surgery will happen in Hyderabad," he had said.

Now, we hear that the surgery happened at the Hinduja hospital with the assistance of a team of doctors from the Apollo hospital, who flew in from Hyderabad.

Says a member of Ram’s team, "It was our Apollo hospital’s team of doctors, who suggested that this particular sinus operation be carried out at the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai. Hinduja’s specialist Dr Kirtane performed the surgery, along with doctors from Apollo in Hyderabad, who flew in to supervise and follow up post-surgery procedures.”

The surgery has been successfully performed.

We wish Ram a speedy recovery.
