April 11, 2016 11:51 IST

The latest updates from the Tamil film industry.

Rajinikanth

The teaser of Rajinikanth's new film Kabali will release on the Tamil New Year, April 14, and his fans are eagerly awaiting it.

Posters and cutouts of the film have adorned theatre complexes, buildings, buses and trains.

A bakery has created a 600-kilo chocolate statue of the superstar in his Kabali avatar. No wonder, it's attracting crowds of people, who want to click a selfie with their favourite star.

The film is likely to release in May, and the makers are releasing a poster every week to enhance the excitement.

Directed by Pa Ranjith of Madras fame, the film co-stars Radhika Aapte.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s 2.0 co-star Amy Jackson is busy with the film’s shooting in Delhi.

2.0 is the sequel to Shankar’s 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

After the first schedule in Chennai, the team has moved to Delhi, where a crucial football match sequence is being filmed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

En route, the gorgeous actress stopped to feed stray puppies, 'Off to set this morning, these cuties had bisleri&biscuits for breakfast. Remember the homeless animals this Summer!'

Vadivelu to star in Vishal’s Kathi Sandai

Vadivelu

After some failed attempts to play hero, popular actor Vadivelu returns to what he does best -- comedy.

The actor will be seen with Vishal in Kathi Sandai.

Since the 2011 assembly elections, when Vadivelu had aggressively campaigned for the DMK against Vjayakanth, the actor has been appearing in fewer roles.

His last two films as hero, Tenaliraman and Eli, were major duds at the box office.

Vadivelu and Vishal have previously worked together in the 2006 film Thimuru.
