A R Rahman and Shekhar Kapur are on a unique mission.

They want to provide equal opportunity to everyone and are scouting talent in Asia's largest slum, Dharavi.

The duo have founded Qyuki Digital Media Ltd, along with entrepreneur Samir Bangara. Qyuki and Universal music have announced The Dharavi Project.

The focus of the project will be to discover fresh talent from Dharavi, nurture it, and then showcase it on an international level.

It was Shekhar Kapur, who had spotted a Dharavi-based hip hop group called Slum Gods.

Watch them perform in this video:

Rahman was reportedly 'blown over' when he saw the performance of the Dharvai youth. If everything goes according to plan, the ace composer will make a song with talent from Dharavi.

Kapur, Rahman, and Bangara have been working on The Dharavi Project for the last year. They have set up a studio facility in Dharavi, in central Mumbai.

Various groups -- aged five to 21 -- have participated in the project.

Here's wishing them a lot of luck!
