PIX: Shashi Kapoor receives Phalke Award with family, friends

The veteran actor received his award in the presence of friends and family.

Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, travelled to Mumbai on May 10 to present the Dadasaheb Phalke award to veteran actor Shashi Kapoor.

A look at the ceremony that took place at the famed Prithvi Theatre in Juhu, a western Mumbai suburb.

The ceremony incidentally took place on Mothers Day while Twitter was abuzz with Kapoor's famous 'Mere Paas Maa Hai' dialogue from Deewar as cinephiles paid tribute to the legendary actor.

 

 

Rishi Kapoor, who tweeted pictures from the ceremony, shares the frame with Jaitley and actor son Ranbir Kapoor.

The Bombay Velvet actor also addressed the gathering ahead of the felicitation.
