Sonali BendrePakistani filmmakers are gearing up to co-produce films with their Indian counterparts and rope in Indian actors.

A 25-member official Pakistani film delegation, in Mumbai to take part in 'FRAMES', the biggest convention in Asia covering the entire gamut of entertainment, is already negotiating with Indian bigwigs like producer-cum-director Yash Chopra.

The team, which has signed memoranda of understanding with Indian producers like Shyam Shroff and Chopra, is also hoping to rope in Indian stars after receiving a green signal from Pakistani officials.

Jamshed Zaffar, a Pakistani film producer, is marking out plans to co-produce a film with Shyam Shroff, entitled Ehsan.

"We have not yet finalised the Indian actress, but we are looking at names like Sonali Bendre," Zaffar said.

"The popular actor Shaan from Pakistan will be the lead actor in Ehsan. We hope to shoot the film in London.

"Indian stars are very popular in Pakistan, despite the fact that Indian films are not released there," he said.

He said the film industry in his country has suffered a dent because Pakistanis watch Indian pirated films. "Moreover, you cannot compare an Indian film made on a budget of Rs50 crore with a Pakistan film made on one-and-a-half crore. There is going to be a difference," he said.
