Nivin, the real life back-bencher

July 24, 2015 09:53 IST

A lowdown on what's going on in the Malayalam film industry.

Nivin Pauly, the current heartthrob of Malayalam cinema, recently revealed in an interview to a national daily that just like his character George in his recent blockbuster Premam, he was a back-bencher during his student days.

George, in Premam, has a crush on Mary and also with his teacher, Malar.

Unlike his screen character though, Nivin had one romance, with classmate Rinna, whom he married later.

She was the class topper and it was with her support that he could fulfill the dream of becoming an actor, he added.

Mohanlal's canine conundrum

With incidents of stray dogs attacking people on the rise in Kerala, superstar Mohanlal has spoken out on the issue in his latest blog.

The discussion around finding the solution for the problem took another turn with animal lovers calling for a more compassionate attitude towards strays.

Mohanlal has added another dimension to the discourse, by raising questions about civic sense and basic hygiene.

“We need to have a better idea about general hygiene. Now it has become reality that we feed these dogs that bite,” he wrote in the post.
