Though Khushi bit the dust producer Boney Kapoor is determined to start another film with the same leaFardeen Khand pair (Fardeen Khan, Kareena Kapoor) and director (S J Suryah). The new film will be a remake of the successful Tamil film Vaalee, which will see Fardeen in a double role for the first time.

Meanwhile, Boney's next film starring Abhishek Bachchan and Mahesh Manjrekar will be launched on March 18. It will be a remake of the successful Madhavan-Atul Kulkarni Tamil starrer, Run.

Savita chachi refuses Karan Johar

Better known as Savita chachi, courtesy Balaji Telefilms' famous soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Apara Mehta has turned down a role in Karan Johar's Kal Ho Na Ho directed by his assistant Nikhil Advani.Karan Johar The film seems to be inspired by the Hrishikesh Mukherjee classic, Anand (Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan).

Earlier, Apara had refused Aditya Chopra's Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shergill, Sanjana). She explains, "Just because I did Devdas it does not mean I will sign each and every role that comes my way. The role in Karan Johar's film had no substance. As for Adi's offer, I was required to wear a white patch in my hair. I don't want to act older than my years. I am only in my early 40s."

The role was eventually done by Bindu.

Bollywood's latest item number

Ruhi Sawant (alias Rakhee), who had a small role in Mahesh Manjrekar's Kurukshetra (Sanjay Dutt, Mahima Chaudhary), seems to have become Bollywood's latest item number girl.

Now seen in the popular song Mohabbat hai mirchi from Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne (Zayed Khan, Esha Deol), she has been signed for five item numbers -- including Manisha Koirala's Paisa Vasool, Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na, Ashok Honda's Om, Partho Ghosh's Surya and Neeraj Pathak's Dhaar.

Confirms director Sangeeth Sivan, "That is true. But Uday suddenly shifted focus to his home production Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai. He could not say no to his brother Aditya Chopra. And I could not wait. Everything had been finalised and I wanted the hero on a start-to-finish commitment."

That is how Zayed Khan bagged the role that will launch his film career.
