After 23 years in the film industry, Nandita Das will get a chance to do a typical Bollywood dance. And that too in a Spanish film!
In Anna Soler-Pont’s Traces Of Sandalwood, the actress will perform the full-on filmi dance for the first time in her career.
The director has roped in the formidable choreographer Saroj Khan to teach Nandita
some dance steps.
Rehearsals are on in full swing, and the challenge is giving Nandita sleepless nights.
"Can you believe it? In all these years, I’ve never danced on screen, probably because I’ve been seen in a particular image both off and on screen. But hey, I enjoy dancing too! And I’ll prove it!"
Known to be a hard task-master, Saroj Khan is spending considerable time coaching Nandita on the
latkas and
jhatkas.
