Nagarjuna joins Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign

The Telugu superstar also unveiled a website to create awareness and also engage his fans in the initiative.

On Sunday October 26, actor Nagarjuna cleaned a street near the Annapurna Studios as part of his commitment to the Swachh Bharat movement.

​He also took the pledge along with a large number of Swachh Bharat ambassadors who participated in the campaign.​

He said, “This is not a one-time event; it is a translation of my pledge to keep neighbourhood clean, create many more ambassadors and collaborate with like-minded people across the region to expand and sustain the Swachh Bharat movement.”

The superstar advocated the use of litter bins and urged people to clean garbage on the streets to keep their surroundings hygienic.

He also unveiled ​www.​nag4SwachhBharat​.org, a website that spreads awareness and encourages public participation.

The website will use powerful social media platforms to leverage Nagarjuna’s million Facebook and Twitter followers to create micro level ambassadors and create Swachh Bharat events.

He nominated Major Shivkiran, an ex-army officer who established Sukuki Exnora to provide sustainable solution in solid waste management, Syed Mazher Hussain who works with the UN and also established COVA with a network of 700 organisations in community empowerment and communal harmony in India, Kirthiga Reddy, head of Facebook India, Mujeeb Khan, president of Bhoomi Foundation, which works towards creating a nation of honest and able leaders, Sudeep, leading Kannada actor, Pullela Gopichand and Allu Arjun, Telugu actor.

He has also nominated YOU - Every Citizen to take part in the initiative.
