Singer Mahendra Kapoor passed away on September 28, and the Hindi film industry lost one of its best voices.
Born in Amrtisar, Kapoor got his big break with V Shantaram's Navrang. His songs like Aadha Hai Chandrama Raat Aadhi (Navrang), Chalo Ek Baar Phir Se Ajnabi Ban Jaye Hum Dono (Gumrah), Na Mooh Chuppa Ke Jiyo (Humraaz), Bhool Sakta Hai Bhala Kaise Tumhari Aankhen (Dharam), and the biggest hit, Mere Desh Ki Dharti (Upkaar) gave us a reason to sing.
