Meet the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs contestants

Which of these young talents will YOU vote for?

The fifth season of Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs kicked off on December 27. This time, boys will be pit against the girls.

Check out the 12 contestants competing for the title:

 

Aishwarya Saha, 9

One of the youngest children on the show, Aishwarya hails from Kolkata.

Aishwarya won Zee Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2011, when she was barely six years old. She is training in both classical and semi-classical music and enjoys listening to songs sung by Arijit Singh.

 

Prabhupada Mohanty, 12

Coming from a family of musicians, Parabhupada has been learning music from the age of nine. He also plays instruments like the keyboard, tabla, harmonium and tanpura and dreams of becoming a music director and singer.

He hails from Balasore in Orissa.

 

Aravind Nair, 13

Aravind hails from Kochi, Kerala, and is trained in Carnatic music.

He is proficient with classical, semi classical and rock music. His inspiration and teacher is his father, also a singer.

His idols are Shankar Mahadevan and Sonu Nigam and he looks forward to meeting them.

 

Gagan Gaonkar, 13

Gagan has won the Kannada series of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

Originally from Udupi, Karnataka, Gagan has learned Hindustani classical music, and also sings ghazals and Sufi music.

His favourite music icons are Lata Mangeshkar and Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, and aspires to meet Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Apart from singing, Gagan has acted in various Kannada movies.

 

Keshav Tyohar, 13

Patna-based Keshav has learnt Hindustani classical music. His mother is a music teacher.

He aspires to become a music director and singer.

 

Ridham Kalyan, 13

Punjab da puttar Ridham hails from Amritsar and wants to become a playback singer like his icon, Sukhwinder Singh.

Ridham is training in Hindustani classical music and considers his maternal uncle, also a singer, as his inspiration.

 

Arunita Kanjilal, 11

Arunita hails from Kolkata.

She won Zee Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2013.

Apart from singing, Arunita plays musical instruments like the harmonium and tanpura. She worked with noted singer Kumar Sanu during her stint on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, and also wishes to learn from Hairharan and Shreya Ghoshal.

 

Isis Paul, 12

Isis hails from Kolkata and is trained in classical music. She enjoys singing western music as well.

Her idol is Sunidhi Chauhan and she wants to learn from her.

 

Sneha Pandit, 8

Sneha is the daughter of famous singer and music director, Ram Shankar and hails from Mumbai.

 

Antara Sarkar, 11

Trained in Rabindra sangeet in her hometown Kolkata, Antara loves singing as well as dancing. She hopes to meet the legendary sisters Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle and even dreams of recording a song with them.

 

Ishita Vishwakarma, 12

Ishita hails from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

Having learnt Hindustani classical and western music from her parents, she is a huge fan of Shreya Ghoshal.

 

Varenyam Pandya, 9

Gujarati boy, who hails from Mumbai, Varenyam belongs to a family of musicians.

Varenyam is a versatile singer, who sings in 14 languages and is proficient in every style.
