The singer's style -- he turns music director with Lucky -- is written all over the soundtrack of Sohail Khan's upcoming love story.
Set in Russia, Lucky is directed by former music industry executives Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru and features Salman Khan and new find Sneha Ullal.
Most of the songs fit the Sami template. Only he doesn't hog all of them, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam are the alternate male voices.

A wave of déjà vu hits you as the opening number Jaan meri ja rahi sanam unravels. Remember Na shikwa hota from Tehzeeb? Jaan meri sounds like a distant albeit mushier cousin of the same.
Sonu Nigam is at his flawless best in Sun zara, a breezy melody. But the song isn't magical enough to hold the listener's interest. Its other version, the Luboi mix with its lounge music feel, sung by Sami is more groovy.
Mischievous and racy, Lucky lips has all the spicy ingredients. Asha Bhosle's saucy voice spruces the hip number to scrumptious levels. This one has a Bolshoi mix too. Needless to say it rocks!. A poised hit, this lucky lip.
Boring and bland, Hum deewane is Sami's most uninspiring effort and makes you sprint for the fast forward button.
Though Chori chori isn't in the same rung as Hum deewane, it doesn't gather any brownie points. Here's why: the usually melodious Alka Yagnik is screechy, while Sonu sings like he is in a rush. The end product is an annoying traffic of bumpy noises.
The soundtrack concludes on a tender note with Sami and Lata Mangeshkar collaborating for Shayad yahi to pyaar hai. Slow, sensitive and soothing, Shayad yahi had the makings of a winner if it wasn't for Mangeshkar's laboured rendition.
The music of Lucky is average fare. Unless you are a fan of Adnan Sami's, it might not appeal to you.
