Mumbai cop Daya Nayak is Bollywood's favourite hero these days. First N Chandra made a film about this encounter specialist with Kagaar (Amitabh Dayal, Nandita Das).
Now it is producer Ram Gopal Varma's turn. Directed by Varma's latest discovery, Shimit Amin, Nana Patekar plays the specialist cop in Ab Tak Chhappan.
US-based Amin edited Varma's Bhoot,
in which Patekar played a cop with a sense of humour. Patekar is also due to direct a film for Varma soon.
Ab Tak Chhappan also features Revathy, Nakul Vaid, Hrishitaa Bhatt and Kunal Vijaykar in key roles.
Interestingly, Suniel Shetty's character in Madhur Bhandarkar's Aan too is outlined on Daya Nayak.
Ab Tak Chhappan is due for a February 27 release.
