January 24, 2004 08:00 IST

Move over Bryan Singer's X-Men, Rudraksh is here. If X-Men was about mutants possessing extraordinary powers, Rudraksh is about a man capable of healing people with inherent supernatural strength.

Mani Shankar's mystical SFX thriller Rudraksh, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Bipasha Basu and Isha Koppikar presents its actors in an unusual avatar.

Bipasha Basu plays Gayatri, a scientist who comes down the from United States to research paranormal activity. She bumps into Varun (Dutt), who holds mysterious powers.

The clairvoyant Varun is attracted to the legendary rudraksh, which is known to bestow remarkable energy to its owner.

But Bhuria (Shetty) and Lali (Koppikar) discover the rudraksh before anyone else.

Shankar made his debut as a director with 16 December starring Milind Soman, Dippanita Sharma and Sushant Singh in 2002.

Like his previous film, Shankar is at the helm of the special effects in Rudraksh as well.

The film is set for a February 6 release.
