Urmila gives award to Van Damme

May 01, 2004 16:06 IST

This week has been a celebration of Bollywood of sorts. While Bombay Dreams opened on Broadway on April 29, the next day saw the Bollywood Fashion Awards in Atlanta.

Seen here, Urmila Matondkar with Hollywood action star Jean Claude Van Damme, to whom she handed over the award for international style.

Van Damme is not the first Hollywood star to be recognised by the Hindi film industry. Sharon Stone received the Woman of Conscience Award for her 'steadfast support to charitable and philanthropic organisations like Amfar and The Bridge Fund.'

Other international celebrities like Michael Jackson, Richard Gere, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tyra Banks, Jerry Hall and Diane Von Furstenberg have been awarded by the Hindi film industry earlier.
