Kerala State Film Awards create controversy

The Kerala State Film Awards have been announced and it has already courted controversy.

Soon after the announcement, musician Ramesh Narayan said Best Music Director award was a revenge on Prithviraj, who wanted his songs removed from Ennu Ninte Moideen, and director R S Vimal knew about it.

Vimal alleged that the musician was trying to create a rift between him and his hero by including his name in the controversy.

Award jury chairman Mohan’s remark that Premam was not considered because the jury felt it was a lazy effort was rather surprising and it has sparked off a heated debate across media.

Actor expressed his disappointment for sidelining several genuine efforts.

Scenarist Najeem Koya claimed that Harikumar’s story for Kaattum Mazhayum that won the award was actually written by him.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that the winners were selected due to favouritism.

Dulquer Salmaan won Best Actor, Parvathy won Best Actress and Martin Prakkat won Best Director for Charlie.

Kammattippaadam's first look poster unveiled

The first poster of filmmaker Rajeev Ravi’s Kammattippaadam has been released with Dulquer Salmaan sporting a salt and pepper look.

Kammattippaadam is a period film, produced by Prem Menon of Global United Media.

Cinematographer-turned-director Rajeev Ravi has earlier directed Annayum Rasoolum and Njan Steve Lopez.

Fahadh to team up with Anwar Rasheed

Fahadh Faasil, who is back to his winning ways with the success of Maheshinte Prathikaram, will team up with director Anwar Rasheed for his next film.

"We had planned a movie titled Maniyarayile Jinnu, which had gotten postponed. I am looking forward to this new project, which will start rolling next month," said Fahadh.

Anwar has earlier directed Fahadh in Aami, one of the five films in the 5 Sundarikal anthology.
