Kangana bags National Award for Queen

Kangana Ranaut in QueenThe 62nd National Awards have been announced.

Kangana Ranaut has won the Best Actress award for her brilliant performance in Queen. The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, has also won an award for Best Hindi film.

This is a beautiful birthday present for the actress, who turned 28 on March 23.

Queen is Kangana's second National Award. She had bagged the Best Supporting Actress award for her film Fashion in 2008.

Chaitanya Tamhane's Marathi film Court has been named the Best Feature Film while Priyanka Chopra-starrer Mary Kom has won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Vijay has won the Best Actor for the Kannada movie Nanu Avanalla Avalu.    

Shahid Kapoor-starrer Haider has won five awards: Best Playback Singer (Male) for Sukhwinder Singh, Best Costume Design for Dolly Ahluwalia, Best Music Direction for Vishal Bhardwaj, Best Choreography for Sudesh Bismil and Best Dialogues.

The Best Playback Singer (Female) award has gone to Uttara Unnikrishanan for the Tamil song, Azhagu, in the film Saivam.

The Best Direction award has gone to Srijit Mukherji for his Bengali film, Chotushkone. 

The Best Supporting Actor award has gone to Bobby Simhaa for his Tamil film, Jigarthanda, while the Best Supporting Actress has gone to Baljinder Kaur for her Haryanavi film, Pagdi The Honour.

The Indira Gandhi Award For Best Debut Film of a Director has gone to Aditya Vikram Sengupta for his Bengali film Asha Jaoar Majhe.
