Son Arya Babbar's debut film Ab Ke Baras sank without a trace at the box-office, but actor-turned-politician-turned-producer Raj Babbar has not lost heart. He is back launching daughter Juhi on the silver screen.Juhi and Arya Babbar

"I have never looked at it this way. I had my share of luck, Arya had his and Juhi will have hers. I am here to promote her film, Kash...Aap Hamare Hote," he says. The Babbar Productions film has singer-turned-actor Sonu Nigam as Juhi's costar.

Arya entered the glamour world last May after years of preparation, from being a backstage boy to putting in long hours of workouts to prune his waist. But the musical love story and thriller based on reincarnation and the supernatural, costarring newcomer Amrita Rao, bombed like most other Bollywood ventures of 2002.

Raj Babbar, who had been optimistic about his son's debut with his home production, exhibited a similar confidence with his daughter's new film. "She has what it takes to be a good actor and has worked hard," he claims.

Asked if he would like a film starring both, Babbar replied, "Yes, of course. If there is a good brother-sister plot, why not?" Arya will feature in another home production later this year.

At a time when Bollywood's top line is choc-a-bloc with star kids including Kareena Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and Esha Deol, latest entrant Juhi has her fingers crossed. "Anyone would be nervous with a first venture. So am I," she says.

Remind her that brother Arya did not have much luck with celluloid and she retorts, "But you still know his name, don't you? It would be enough for me if people know me as a good actress."

The film, a love story, is Raj Babbar's first production in three years.

Sonu Nigam, who claims Kaash... is his real film debut, and not his earlier film, Raj Kumar Kohli's Jaani Dushman, says, "My first movie was crowded with so many stars [Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Manisha Koirala, Aftab Shivdasani, Aditya Pancholi, Arshad Warsi, Sharad Kapoor, Rambha]. I have learnt a lot of lessons with my debut, things which I would have taken me a long time to pick up otherwise. Kaash... will certainly be a better bet for me as a lead actor," he said.
