The young lad from Delhi -- Jai Kalra -- is back in the limelight, albeit in the small screen.

Jai, whose portrayal of a model's role in Madhur Bhandarkar's Page 3 won him many accolades, will be making his television debut with Balaji Telefilm's Kis Desh Mein Hain Mera Dil as a cockey and sharp business tycoon, Risabh Rampal.

But why television all of a sudden?

"For an actor, the difference between television and movies is almost negligible. Both mediums are equally creative and important. So why not television?"

How did you manage to get this role?

"When you want to work with the best people in the industry you know how to get the best of roles!"

Does this mean there are grey shades to the role?

"Whether I will create any problem for the lead pair of the show is something I can't disclose now. You will have to wait and watch."

So how does it feel working with Balaji Telefilms?

"It is definitely an experience of a lifetime. At the same time, I must admit that since I am not used to three shifts a day, it is proving to be a bit tiring and fatigue may set in after some time. But I guess this is the way the whole industry is working now. So I should not complain."

It has been a while since we last saw you...

"I was very much here in Mumbai! In these two years I completed two films -- Himanshu Dhulia's Shargid with Nana Patekar and five-time National Award winning director Manmohan Mahajan's Bits and Pieces where my co-stars are Nandita Das and Raima Sen. I am extremely excited and charged up about Bits and Pieces. Working with Manmohan Mahajan is really an experience of a lifetime," he concludes.
