J P Dutta's daughter to make her debut

February 20, 2014 17:01 IST

Nidhi DuttaFilmmaker J P Dutta is currently in the process of starting a sequel to his 1997 war epic Border, and is also busy supervising the launch of his home production that will launch his daughter Nidhi opposite Nafisa Ali’s son Ajit Sodhi.

Contrary to reports, Nidhi and Ajit, who have known each other since childhood, are not co-starring in Border 2.

The new pair will be launched in a film directed by Binoy Gandhi.

Gandhi has assisted Kunal Kohli earlier, and has made a 45-minute feature film entitled Ishq Holiday.

Gandhi’s love story had been written with Ranbir Kapoor in mind but the actor apparently doesn’t

fit the bill for a young love story any longer.

Says a source close to the Duttas, “Binoy has a very fresh urban love story to tell. Nidhi and Ajit are family friends. JP Dutta and his wife Bindiya have known Nafisa Ali and her husband (polo player) Colonel R S Sodhi for decades. This seems like the perfect vehicle for them.”
