It's all in the TITLE!

September 10, 2014 16:56 IST

Want to know what a film is about? Just read the title!

Bollywood is known not to play it subtle.

More often than not, they spell out the film's theme in the title itself.

So if our protagonist is playing an actress, the film is titled Heroine. And if it's a cop, well, Policegiri.

Here's looking at films that spills the beans, right in its title.

Daawat-e-Ishq

There is love.

There is an invitation to try out some delicious delicacies.

And then there is a Yash Raj love story.

Daawat-e-Ishq has Aditya Roy Kapur playing a Lucknowi chef. From being an alcoholic in Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, it's quite a shift for Aditya.

Parineeti Chopra, who plays a shoe salesgirl in the film, gives him company in the film.

Sonali Cable

Roopa De Choudhury in Sonali Cable

Rhea Chakraborty in Sonali Cable

Sonali Cable is an upcoming film starring Rhea Chakraborty (of Mere Dad Ki Maruti fame).

As the title suggests, she plays a cable operator in the film.

Sonali Cable is being projected as a 'David versus Goliath' story where Rhea puts her love, life and survival at stake by coming in the way of the expansion plans of India's largest corporation.

Action Jackson

Action, we get.

But Jackson comes as a surprise since protagonist Ajay Devgn is not known for his dancing skills.

With fab dancer and director Prabhu Dheva calling the shots, that's possible too.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshi

After Bobby Jasoos, it's time for yet another detective tale Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, based on a legendary fictional character that has entertained earlier in the literary as well as television world.

With Sushant Singh Rajput playing the titular part, one waits to see if director Dibakar Banerjee will bring in any twists.

Bank Chor

Riteish Desmukh

Get it?

The film has a bank, and a chor!

The chor is played by Riteish Deshmukh -- Kapil Sharma, who was originally cast, opted out of the film -- and the police is played by Vivek Oberoi.

Let's see if the Masti actors have fun in the film.

Jagga Jasoos

Ranbir Kapoor plays 'Jagga' and no prizes for guessing that he is a 'jasoos' in the scheme of things.

From being the 'Salesman of the Year' to 'Jasoos', Ranbir is obviously loving the filmi professions handed out to him. But he may not have loved his Besharam car mechanic job too much.

Meeruthiya Gangsters

A relatively unknown film in the making, Meeruthiya Gangster is a story of well, gangsters.

It has been directed by Zeishan Quadri, last seen as a singer/performer and gangster in Revolver Rani and Gang of Wasseypur respectively.
