After heists, it's Hijackings

Bollywood is really following Hollywood's footsteps. The latest 'inspiration' after heists and comedies, is hijackings.

While Zameen was based on the Kandahar plane hijack, another film is inspired from Bruce Willis Die Hard series. Titled Hijack, the film is Saif Ali Khan's home production and is directed by ad filmmaker Kunal Shivdasani.

Though this is Saif's production, he will not star in the film. Instead, he has opted for Life... In A Metro actor Shiney Ahuja, and Esha Deol.

Action director Allan Amin, who has done films like Dhoom, Dhoom:2 and Rang De Basanti, is part of the film as well.

"I'm shooting a hijacking sequence where terrorists are already in the plane," Amin explains, in front of a replica of a plane.

"The terrorists have smuggled guns in the airplane and are about to hijack the plane," he adds, as he explains the shot to Shiney. Shiny plays an airplane engineer and a father. His daughter, who is on her way home from boarding school, is on the flight. The film is essentially how the father saves his little girl. Esha plays an air hostess.

Explaining about the shoot, Amin says, "shooting was not really difficult as the entire film is filmed on the plane."

The film shoot is scheduled to be completed by August and will be ready for release in November.
