Now, let’s wait for the movie, says Syed Firdaus Ashraf.

Rana Daggubatti in Ghazi

While everyone may be waiting to see what Rana Daggubatti will be up to as Bhallala Deva in Bahubali 2: The Conclusion -- besides, of course, finally finding out why Kattappa killed Bahubali -- the actor himself has been busy with another film as well.

This one, titled The Ghazi Attack, is from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions stable as well and releases on February 17. It is a bilingual that will also release in Telugu.

In Urdu, the word ghazi refers to a Muslim warrior fighting against infidels.

The film, which marks the debut of director Sankalp Reddy, is based on an event in the 1971 India-Pakistan war that saw the sinking of the Pakistani submarine, Ghazi.

The Ghazi crew were entrusted with the mission of hunting down and destroying India’s aircraft carrier, the INS Vikrant.

From the trailer, it is evident that the film has been shot beautifully and leaves the viewer wanting to see more.

The film’s stellar cast – which includes the late Om Puri, Nassar, Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni – seem to have put in excellent performances.

And then there’s Tapsee Pannu, fresh off the success of Pink… on whose side is she?

While the trailer looks promising, we can only hope Sankalp Reddy has made a film saluting the bravery of the Indian Navy and not given The Ghazi Attack some unnecessary Bollywood love tadka.
