Get ready for Mammootty's Puthiya Niyamam

The latest updates from the Malayalam film industry.

Mammootty plays a socially-committed lawyer named Louis Pothen in writer-director A K Saajan’s Puthiya Niyamam, which hits the screens on February 12.

Nayantara plays his wife, Vasuki Iyer.

Mammootty and Nayantara have earlier come together in films like Raappakal, Thaskara Veeran and Bhaskar The Rascal.

Puthiya Niyamam will have Fahadh Faasil's Maheshinte Prathikaram and Nivin Pauly's Action Hero Biju for company at the box office; both films released a week earlier.

Puthiya Niyamam has been produced by P Venugopal and Geo Abraham, with cinematography by Roby Varghese Raj and music by Vinu Thomas.

Vettah to come this month end

Manju Warrier’s look as a cop in Rajesh Pillai’s film, Vettah has been revealed.

She plays an IPS officer named Sreebala.

Kunchacko Boban and Indrajith are the male leads in the film.

Trendsetter Rajesh Pillai, who had started a new wave in Malayalam cinema with Traffic, directed Mili last year.

Keerthy Suresh is making waves in Tamil

After the success of Rajni Murugan, Keerthy Suresh is riding high.

She is all set to be Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s heroine in Bharathan's next.

Keerthy, the daughter of producer Suresh Kumar and yesteryear heroine Menaka, shot to fame playing a double role in Priyadarshan's forgettable Malayalam film Geethanjali.

But her next release, Ring Master, was a big success.

With several high profile projects in the pipeline, Keerthy seems to be the latest Malayali girl to make it to the top league in Tamil.
