First Look: Meet Mohanlal's son

Last updated on: January 27, 2009 17:42 IST

Look closely at the young man with curly locks, and clad in a dark brown leather jacket, darting those piercing eyes at Mohanlal. Well, he is Pranav Mohanlal, the 18-year old son of the superstar, who makes his brief appearance in director Amal Neerad's Malayalam film Sagar Alias Jacky.

Pranav's appearance in the movie has an interesting story behind it. It so happened that Mohanlal's family was present during the film's shooting in Dubai. Somehow, it was decided to include Pranav in one sequence, which shouldn't come as a surprise as the young man is no stranger to movies. Pranav has in fact won the Kerala State award as a child artiste for his performance in the film Punarjani. The film was directed jointly by Major Ravi and Rajesh Amanakara.

Pranav has also played Mohanlal's childhood in Thampi Kannamthanam's Onnaman. He is now studying in a school in Ootty. We can clearly see that Pranav has inherited his dad's curly hair. Remember Mohanlal in his first film [Fazil's Manjil Virinja Pookkal] more than two decades ago?

Sagar Alias Jacky is Mohanlal's character from the yesteryear blockbuster Irupatham Noottandu. Amal Neerad narrates a new episode from the character's life in the film. Both the films have been scripted by S N Swami.

In Sagar Alias Jacky, Pranav is part of a young gang and the older don takes a look at the youngsters as he pass by.
The birth of a hero, did you say? Well, your guess is as good as ours!
