March 25, 2011 15:04 IST
Madame Tussauds Hong Kong unveiled its first permanent Bollywood wax figure of Amitabh Bachchan.

Kelly Mak, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong said, "There are more and more Indian visitors taking the star-studded journey through Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.

We are sure that the new Amitabh Bachchan wax figure experience will appeal to our Indian visitors, who will get to meet their legendary star here, as well as other local and international visitors.

As a key attraction in Hong Kong, we are dedicated to promoting the city's tourism so are excited to be able to offer our visitors even more when they visit Madame
Tussauds Hong Kong."

Actor Moses Chan joined Kelly Mak and a group of Bollywood dancers to unveil the star's wax figure.

The ceremony kicked off with a dynamic Bollywood dance performance, reminiscent of the Bollywood movie glamour.

The Amitabh Bachchan wax figure is dressed in an Indian-style black suit and white trousers, as seen in the opening of Salon du Cinema at Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris in 2009.

It will be displayed against an exquisite Indian facade adorned with light bulbs and visitors can be part of a theatre-style lighting show inspired by Bachchan's movie Aladin

The wax figure will be permanently displayed in the World Premiere zone at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
