Emraan Hasmi with son AyaanActor Emraan Hashmi's four-year-old son Ayaan has been diagnosed with first stage cancer.

According to reports, the actor's son, admitted to the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai, on Monday, January 13, was diagnosed with a tumour in his kidney that was found to be malignant.

Emraan's filmmaker uncle Mahesh Bhatt rushed to his residence to be by his side in this difficult time.

At present, Ayan is reportedly being prepped for immediate surgery which may be followed by chemotherapy sessions to get rid of the malignant tumour.

Hashmi, who was scheduled to leave for South Africa for the shooting of his upcoming film Mr X on January 18, has canceled his travel plans to be by his ailing son's side.

The film's shoot will now take place in Mumbai so that the actor can be close to his family.
