Dara Singh's ashes immersed in Punjab river

Dara SinghThe mortal remains of wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh, who died in Mumbai last week, were immersed in Satluj river at Kiratpur Sahib in Punjab according to Sikh rituals on Monday.

The ashes
were brought from Mumbai to Chandigarh by air and then taken to Kiratpur Sahib by road.


A large number of fans of Dara Singh were present to pay tribute.

Sons Vindoo Dara Singh, Parduman Singh Randhawa and Amrik Singh Randhawa immersed the ashes. Shiromani Akali Dal leader and area MLA, Daljit Singh Cheema, was also present.

Dara Singh, who was born in a village in Amritsar district, breathed his last on July 12 at the age of 83.
