Coming up: Vijay Sethupathi, five times over!

January 25, 2016 10:28 IST

Here's what Vijay Sethupathi has in store for us this year.

One of most sought-after actors of Tamil cinema today, Vijay Sethupathi stands apart with his choice of unconventional scripts and inspired characters.

He is not your typical mass hero, with a dramatic entry song or a spectacular fight scene.

It was his brilliant portrayal of an eccentric 40-year-old kidnapper in Soodhu Kavvum that made him a household name overnight.

This year promises to be exciting for Vjay, as he will be seen in films made by amazing directors like Karthik Subbaraj, Nalan Kumarasamy and Seenu Ramaswamy.

Here is a look at what the versatile actor has in store for us this year.

Based on a Korean film called My Dear Desperado, the film is bankrolled by C V Kumar under the Thirukumaran Entertainment banner.

Premam actress Madonna Sebastian plays the female lead.

The film is expected to release on the Valentine’s Day weekend.

After Pizza and Jigarthanda, it is Iraivi for director Karthik Subbaraj.

Vijay Sethupathi, who had been part of both his previous ventures, has been roped in a significant role in this multi-starrer that has created quite a stir with its intense trailer.

Others in cast include director SJ Surya, Bobby Simha, Karunakaran, Anjali, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Pooja Devariya and veteran actor Radharavi.

Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music.

The film is directed by S U Arun Kumar, who had previously made his debut with the Vijay Sethupati-starrer Pannaiyarum Padminiyum.

Vijay's Pizza co-star Remya Nambeesan joins him again here.

The two have now got back together for a film titled Idam Porul Yaeval.

The film also stars Vishnu, Nandita Swetha and Iyshwarya Rajesh of Kaaka Muttai fame.

Produced by Lingusamy, the film has been lying in the cans for quite some time and is expected to release later this year.
