Box Office: Poor opening for Laali Ki Shaadi..., Mukti Bhavan

The hits and misses of the week.

Moviegoers were treated to two films last week, Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana and Mukti Bhawan.

While Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana got mostly poor reviews, Mukti Bhavan saw some amazing reviews. Its lead actor Adil Hussain, in fact, got a special mention at the National awards that were announced on the day the film released.

Trade analyst Vinod Mirani gives us the weekly verdict. 

 

Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana

Cast: Vivaan Shah, Akshara Haasan, Gurmeet Choudhary.

Director: Manish Harishankar.

What works: Sincere film.

What doesn't: Bad performances, mediocre.

Number of weeks: New.

BO verdict: Poor opening.

What doesn't: The background score, a little predictable.

What works: The actors, the real-life tale of a hero.
