Box Office: Blackmail, Missing fail to impress

The hits and misses of the week.

Irrfan Khan's Blackmail fails to make an impact as it has very little of all that his films are known for.

At 140 minutes, it's unnecessarily long and monotonous.

The film saw a weak opening and could not improve much over the weekend.

The other release, Missing, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Tabu, is a no show.

Rani Mukerji's Hichki continues to hold well.

Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 2 emerges as a super hit.

Blackmail

What works: Good performances, well directed, never loses its sting.
What doesn't: Slow narrative.

Missing

What works: Nothing!
What doesn't: Monotonous and drab.

Baaghi 2

Cast: Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda.

What works: Tiger Shroff.
What doesn't: Laughable twists and characters, no plot.

Box Office verdict: Superhit.

 

Hichki

What doesn't: Too predictable.

What works: Good story.

What works: Good performances, the three stories are beautifully narrated, unconventional film.
