May 27, 2019 17:31 IST

Bollywood mourned the loss of one of its veterans, Veeru Devgan, on social media, even as other film folk visited his home to pay their last respects.

A stunt director with over 40 years of experience in the industry, Veeru had worked in films like Mr Natwarlal, Do Aur Do Paanch, Dostana, Kranti, Prem Rog, Shahenshah, Mr India, Khoon Bhari Maang and Tridev.

Film folk remembered Veeru's contribution on social media and also offered words of comfort to his son, Ajay, and daughter-in-law Kajol.

Anupam Kher: Deeply saddened to know about the passing away of #VeeruDevganji. Worked with him in so many movies. He was a great action director. To him the safety of actors and his fighters team was of utmost importance. A kind man with a great sense of humour. Om Shanti.

Madhuri Dixit: Condolences to the Devgn family. Hope you'll find the courage to bear this loss. Bollywood has lost one of the finest action directors and an excellent person.

Anees Bazmee: My heartfelt condolences to @AjayDevgn and @kajolATUN and the family. There will be no better Action Director than you Veeru ji. Will miss you. #RIPVeeruDevgan

Abbas Mustan: Our heartfelt condolences to Ajay Devgn, Kajol and entire family on the sad demise of #VeeruDevganji. May his soul rest in peace.

Kunal Kohli: #RIP#VeeruDevganji. A legend of Hindi Cinema. Left his mark at a time when 'pure action', without vfx, was the order of the day. Heartfelt condolences to @ajaydevgn & @KajolAtUN. May his soul rest in peace. Prayers are with the family.

Siddharth: Deepest condolences and strength to @ajaydevgn and his family. Prayers and respects to #VeeruDevgan sir, a stellar veteran stunt choreographer. R.I.P.
