Tum Mile banned in Gujarat?

November 17, 2009 16:55 IST

Many multiplexes and theatres in Gujarat refrained from screening Mahesh Bhatt's Tum Mile following a demand by the Mahagujarat Janta Party (MJP) for state-wide ban on it. At other places, party workers forced closure of the film shows.

MJP demanded ban following reports of Bhatt's son Rahul's acquaintance with David Headley, the US national, arrested by FBI for allegedly plotting attacks in India at the LeT's behest.

According to the Multiplex Association of Gujarat, no formal instructions have been issued in this regard but most of them have decided not to screen the Emraan Hashmi-Soha Ali Khan starrer.

"We had to force the theatre owner to cancel screening of Tum Mile. All multiplexes in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Anand, Nadiad have adhered to our demand and cancelled the screening of the film," Bhavsar told PTI.
