Bald actor? Hit hai, boss!

Ranveer SinghGoing bald seems to increase the film's fortunes!

Ranveer Singh recently shaved his head for Bajirao Mastani, a film that he reportedly really believes in.

Quite a few actors, in fact, have thrown themselves in the filmi character that they believe in, and gone bald to get the look right.

But has their efforts been worth it?

We take a look at the movies, and see how successful they've been.

 

 

 

Aamir Khan, Ghajini

Aamir's bald look in Ghajini was an integral part of the plot, since his character had received a powerful blow to the head that left him with a severe form of amnesia.

The look got so famous that several youngsters wore the look for months after the film's release.

 

Salman Khan, Tere Naam

From sporting long hair, Salman Khan went bald to make sure he stayed true to his character in Tere Naam.

The film starts off with him trying to win Bhoomika Chawla over. Fate intervenes, and he ends up in a mental asylum. 

 

Shahid Kapoor, Haider

Shahid Kapoor was not only bald in a portion of Haider, he went quite mad too.

Like he said in an interview, weirdness came quite naturally to him!

 

Priyanka Chopra, Mary Kom

Unlike the actors featured above, Priyanka did not actually shave her head for Mary Kom. She preferred the use of prosthetics.

Amitabh Bachchan sat in the makeup room for hours in order to get his look right for Paa.

Prosthetics came into play, and did a fine job on the actor.

Sardar was based on the life of freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Paresh Rawal fit into the title role perfectly.

Even though he played the title role in Ra.One, Arjun Rampal had the shortest screen time in the film.

Even then, he worked hard on his look, losing a lot of weight and cutting off his locks.

Emraan hasn't actually shaved his head, prosthetics will do the job for him.
