'He is eating prison food. But efforts are on to get permission for ghar ka khaana.'
In what came as a huge respite in Aryan Khan's imprisonment in the narcotics case, the 23 year old was allowed to speak to his parents by a video call on Thursday.
A close family friend reveals the details to Subhash K Jha.
"Aryan dialed his mother's number from his prison cell.
"He spoke to both his mother Gauri and father Shah Rukh Khan for a good ten minutes.
"There were no emotional breakdown moments.
"Both the parties in the call wanted to keep the conversation normal."
At this juncture it is not clear whether Aryan will be allowed to speak to his parents on a regular basis.
"They are hoping to speak to him at least once every day.
"Aryan seems to be in good health and in not-too-bad spirits, considering his situation," says the family friend.
As for reports that Aryan is eating only biscuits in prison, the family friends dismisses these reports.
"He is eating prison food. But efforts are on to get permission for ghar ka khaana."
