Naseeruddin Shah has unshakable faith in the Indian democratic system.
Aamir Khan's statement that he and his wife have discussed leaving India due to the growing intolerance in the country has brought a sharp response from fellow-actor Naseeruddin Shah.
"For Aamir to say this, it carries weight but I am not contemplating going anywhere. Anyone trying to drive me out of my home, that is India, will have one hell of a fight on his hands," says Naseer.
Sometime ago Naseer had been attacked for his views about an open-border policy vis-a-vis Pakistan.
Naseer had reacted by saying, "My name is Naseeruddin Shah and I believe that's why I was targeted. It really pains me to say this. I have never been aware of my identity until now."
However, he admits the pain he felt then has not shaken his faith in the Indian democratic system.
